Jacksonville, FL The Rich Matteson Foundation
has won a prestigious Award of Merit for Feature
Documentary from The Indie Fest. The award
was given for the Foundation's high quality DVD

Original".  This DVD follows the life story of one
of America's greatest Jazz artists - Rich
Matteson, from his early days in Las Vegas to
his recording work with Louis Armstrong, to an
internationally renowned career and co-founder
of one of the most unique groups in Jazz
history, "The Matteson/Phillips TubaJazz
Consort".  This documentary covers the
evolution of America's only original art form
through this artist's personal life. Interviews
with jazz artists Pat Metheny, Doc Severinsen,
Pete Barbutti, James Moody, Louie Bellson, and
a host of other greats help tell this amazing
story!  Even thou the DVD is not completed for

to The Indie Fest to be considered for an award
in the feature documentary category. We hope
that this award will help us complete this
inspiring documentary on Rich that will continue
to touch the lives of future generations of
musicians.  The Indie Fest recognizes film
